Ottawa Area Young Professionals
The mission of the Ottawa Area Young Professionals (OAYP) is to foster the personal and professional well-being of young professionals in our community by promoting meaningful social networking, active community involvement, and enriching educational opportunities.
SOCIAL
Our strategy is to provide a “community” or “offer belonging” to our younger generation by providing opportunities they can take advantage of. Since 2020, 29% of adults have felt more lonely or socially isolated. (Choi , et al. 2023)
“People regularly underestimate how friendly and kind others are, but that with a little encouragement to take chances on one another, they can form new connections that contribute to a greater sense of well-being.” (Zaki, 2025)
EDUCATIONAL / VOLUNTEER
Have limited out of office time? Make your lunch hour of value and attend our Lunch & Learns! These events will provide our YP's knowledge and understanding of our area's businesses, while still giving them the social outlet they may not have time to squeeze in elsewhere.
Wanting to find ways to give back? Build your resume while serving your community by taking advantage of the different volunteer opportunities provided. Wish to attend with a group? Join YP when we volunteer for larger-scale projects!
Pricing / Sponsorship Opportunities
We are dedicated to providing opportunities for our OAYP's at an affordable rate! For just $25 a year, you can individually represent yourself or for $40 be sponsored by your employer! Are you an employer looking to further support our programs? Become an annual sponsor (see sponsorship menu), host a Lunch and Learn, or reach out to us if you are seeking volunteers!
